Childcare settings / Specialisms The Paediatric First Aid course is a two-day first aid qualification that covers a range of CPR and first aid skills specifically for children and infants (babies) – because their first aid needs differ from those of adults. It is valid for 3 years, Ofqual accredited and is suitable for anyone who has contact or works with children and infants (babies). Course Content: A range of subjects are covered including: ● Role of the paediatric first aider ● Unresponsive infant not breathing normally ● Child suffering from shock ● Assessing emergency situations ● First aid management for foreign body airway obstruction ● Unresponsive and breathing normally child and baby first aid ● Treatment of wounds and bleeds ● Suspected fracture and dislocation in children. ● First aid to an child with a chronic medical condition or sudden illness ● Treatment for burns and scalds ● Management of a child with a head, a neck and a back injury ● Treatment for a child experiencing the effects of extreme heat and cold ● Provision of first aid for poisoning ● Supporting a child with conditions affecting the eyes, ears and nose ● Treatment for electric shock ● Management for bites and stings with children. 2 day - £150pp Contact us to book or enquire about dates.
